... they made some comment about how well I used the dictionary.

I had a very similar experience, but was chewed out and accused of cheating with a dictionary for using NOT LARGE words but SMALL WORDS!

I used the words "AI"... "DE" ... "RHO" during a game.... a game i may add where this player set the options with "challenge enabled". The player challenged all 3 words when they were used and lost their turn each time. After losing each challenge they then had to type the word in the chat followed by 10 question marks with a demand for a definition. After a pleasant attempt of trying to explain these words were of the "norm" for a frequent Scrabble player.... i was informed that i was cheating by using a dictionary. If that was not insulting enough, they proceeded to announce things in the lobby like "WPECK101112 CHEATS!"---"DON'T PLAY WPECK101112 DICTIONARY CHEATER!".I was appalled !!

I most certainly do not know all the 2 and 3 letter words that are acceptable, however i do know-and have played people who actually do. Does this give them an advantage? ABSOLUTELY! Do they deserve this advantage? YOU BET! If someone takes the time to learn all those words then they deserve EVERY point they earn by using them. They also deserve EVERY extra turn they gain, by stumping their opponent on a challenge.

It is not to difficult to understand that by playing with "challenge enabled", a whole new strategy is added to the match. The player with the obscure vocabulary is at a huge advantage, they are just "fishing" for a challenge.

Yet players set the challenge option, only to question and accuse when they wind up losing their turn. To go as far as to label and announce someone a cheater because they caught you while "fishing" is unexcusable behavior!

In my experiences if you are beaten by someone who out-wits you with those strange obscure words, the thing to do is congratulate them on their fine play and FILE AWAY THOSE WORDS that just beat you and use them in your next game.... it will make you a better player.
