: : Unmelding (added 9/19/03) : Unmelding is considered unsportsmanlike and is therefore prohibited on the last hand to insure your team a win. : If a team unmelds on the last hand of a game, to win the team game, they forfeit the win, and must report the loss immediately. : Explanation: Unmelding is defined as a player eliminating the blue line over a meld or reclicking to undo the meld effectively creating deadwood to go out within their partners spread or cushioned points to win the overall team game. : OK...I AM CONFUSED...UNMELDING IS OK IN YGIN...BUT HERE IN TEAMS, ITS AGAINST THE RULES...BUT, ACCORDING TO THIS RULE {{{AS I HAVE POSTED HERE}}} IT IS ONLY ILLEAGAL ON THE LAST HAND...IS THAT RIGHT? : SAY I HAVE GIN...AND I HAVE 3 ACES AND K, Q, J, AND 10 OF SPADES AND Q OF HEARTS, DIAMONDS, AND CLUBS...IN ORDER TO KNOCK WITH GIN, I HAVE TO UNMELD AND MOVE BLUE LINES TO COVER THE RUN IN SPADES AND THE OTHER 3 QUEENS...THIS WOULD BE ILLEAGAL, RIGHT? : PERSONALLY, I THINK THIS RULE IS SILLY. IF U CAN UNDERCUT A KNOCK...THAT IS PART OF THIS GAME...WHETHER IT IS HAND 1 OR LAST HAND OF THE GAME..SHOULD MAKE NO DIFFERENCE. THERE ARE OTHER THINGS WE SHOULD BE CONSIDERING FOR THE RULES PAGE..IE: TEAM MEMBERS FROM OTHER TEAMS POPPING ON TABLES DURING MATHCES...1) THAT IS DISTRACTING AND 2) THEY SHOULD BE CONCENTRATING ON PKAYING THEIR GAMES INSTEAD OF WATCHING OTHER TEAMS. : ANOTHER THING, ON BOOTING TEAMS FROM TABLE...I THINK THIS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED...JUST BECAUSE YOU DECIDE TO PLAY SOMEONE ELSE {{{AFTER ASKING FOR THE GAME}}} i DONT FEEL THAT THE CHALLENGED TEAM SHOULD EB BOOTED BY THE CHALLENGER JUST SO THE CAN PAY ANOTHER TEAM. : ALSO...WE ARE SHARING THE LOBBY IN ADVANCED LOUNGE WITH 2 OTHER LEAGUES MONKEYS AND YGIN...THEREFORE, I THINK IT IS INAPPROPRIATE FOR THE "HEATED" DISCUSIONS THAT HAVE WENT ON THE LAST FEW DAYS TO CONTINUE...ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE IS AN OP INVOLVED. While this is classified as "nsportsmanship" like tacticsa let me ask u this..... : : In real if u were to play teams and u had a huge cushion could u not knock with 10 knowing your opponent would cut u and it would save your team the win? : : Or how about this.....In real life could u toss 1 of your 3 kings u were dealt to make sure when your opponent knocked or got gin ud be under the spread? : : Or could u pass a card that u need or speck high cards such as kings, queens jacks to get so high u made sure u were under the spread. : : Yes all of these things can be done in real life prior to the opponent laying down their melds with kncoking or gin. Wether it is considered unsportsmanship like or not in real life there are ways to toss a team gin game.
